Subterranean termites
Subterranean termites nest in the ground, they build their colonies in raw land and nest in the ground to form a million termites, They need moist soil and darkness in order to survive and cause more significant damage compared to Drywood termites.
Drywood Termites
Drywood termites nest inside the wood and not on the ground as they don’t need too much moisture. They infest and nest in dry wood and do not require contact with the soil. These termites live in wooden frames, attics, trees, and other wooden elements.
Dampwood Termites
Dampwood termites are larger than the subterranean termites. They are attracted to wood that is water-damaged or rests directly on the ground and tree branches that are left in direct contact with the ground. Dampwood termites also infest roof leaks or cracked drain pipes.
